Hey!!
So Mom Dad I just took out the last of my money in my account. My shoes have big gaping holes in them. Every day the last few weeks my feet have been wet cause it has been raining and I can stick my fist through the bottom of my shoe. We are going to a training in Iloilo tomorrow so I will buy some new shoes.
This week has kind of been a little bit of a downer. We weren't able to work a few days due to a cold that I caught. Still getting over it.
Our district has a few changes in it. Elder Solis is now the only Pinoy (Elder Solis says hi). We have three Americans and two Indian sisters. Sister Ganta and Arumugam. They’re fun. Tomorrow I will be doing lessons on Language. I am excited for that. After our district meeting we will head to Iloilo and won’t get back till probably Friday.
Yeah Dad we were never a really big golf family. I laughed out loud when you said that the grass was so short you could play marbles on it.
And Hana's mom. I hope that the treatments go well. They are such an awesome family. Tell them that I love them, and Heavenly Father will certainly take care of them.
Well I am going to keep this email short. Talk to you again next week. Love and take Care.
Kierston! I hope you have a...good...birth. Like things go smoothly and all. haha. Congrats!

This is going to sound very random, but I stumbled across this blog when I did a Google search for Philippines Iloilo Mission. I'm actually an RM from the Bacolod mission back when it was combined with the Iloilo mission. I got back in 2007, and I still think about my mission every day. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to follow this blog because it looks like your son is now assigned in my former area (Makato). Actually, it was only half of my area. Back then, it was combined with the neighboring ward in Numancia. I love hearing about the new developments from the area. I knew Sister Antoja and I'm way excited to hear that her husband is coming to church now!
I'll be going through my journal entries from that area, and maybe I'll post some former investigators/converts of mine that you can pass along to your son if wants to look them up to get new investigators. In fact, I might still be in the Area Book (I prided myself on keeping a good area book :) ). I was known as Elder Hays back then. Anyways, thanks again for posting these letters. It's awesome to hear real-time news from my old mission!
As promised here's what I could dig up out of my journal. Unfortunately, I wasn't very good at writing down names in my journal, or there would be a lot more!
ReplyDeleteDionelo Fuentas (not sure where he lives, but he should be in the area book, hopefully)
Bengan family (the mother was baptized in 2007, but her son and husband weren't)
Kelly Escalona's family (he's an RM and the only member in his family; we taught his sister a couple of times)
Tawag family (they live in Calangcang)
Zolda family (they live in Dumga)
Alan Antoja (was semi-active when I was there, but he always has good referrals, lives in Tugas)
